Epithelial attachment at diseased human tooth‐apex

Journal of Periodontal Research, 1985
Periapical granulomas may contain proliferating epithelium which in some instances may grow into the entrance of the root canal. It was hypothesized that an “epithelial attachment” may possibly exist at the apices of such diseased teeth. Spontaneous periapical lesions obtained with tooth extraction were prepared for light‐ and electronmicroscopic ...

Calculus‐like deposit at apex of tooth with refractory apical periodontitis

Dental Traumatology, 1998
Abstract— It is generally accepted that bacteria in or outside the root canal are the reason for apical periodontitis and endodontic failures. This case report presents a 60‐year‐old woman with a periapical lesion and a fistulous tract which did not respond to conventional root canal treatment.

SEAL TO HEAL: MANAGEMENT OF A TOOTH WITH OPEN APEX – A CASE REPORT

PARIPEX INDIAN JOURNAL OF RESEARCH, 2023
Managing a tooth with open apex and necrotic pulp along with periapical issues poses a significant challenge, necessitating a carefully crafted treatment strategy. Attaining closure of the root apex becomes crucial for achieving successful outcomes in such scenarios. .

Management of the Immature Apex Tooth: An Online Study Guide

Journal of Endodontics, 2008
The Editorial Board of the Journal of Endodontics has developed a literature-based study guide of topical areas related to endodontics. This study guide is intended to give the reader a focused review of the essential endodontic literature and does not cite all possible articles related to each topic. Although citing all articles would be comprehensive,

Orbital Apex Syndrome Causing Blindness Secondary to a Vertical Root Fracture of a Tooth

Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, 2020
Abstract The authors report a case of a 35-year-old man who presented with left maxillary toothache associated with left sided facial pain and a rapidly progressive loss of vision in the left eye. Clinical and radiological assessments revealed it to be an odontogenic orbital apex syndrome secondary to a vertical root fracture ...

[Skin symptoms of chronic inflammation of a tooth root apex].

Der Hautarzt; Zeitschrift fur Dermatologie, Venerologie, und verwandte Gebiete, 1992
Cutaneous manifestations of a periradicular inflammation are now uncommon. In most cases the periradicular infection results in the development of an apical granuloma. If there is proliferation of resting epithelial cells in this granuloma a cyst will develop, the so-called radicular cyst.

Sympathetic innervation at the apex of the cat's canine tooth - a quantitative analysis.

Anatomischer Anzeiger, 1983
Superior cervical ganglia were removed unilaterally from 6 adult cats. 2 animals were sacrificed at 2, 4 and 7 d and the innervation of the canine apex examined quantitatively. The number of non-myelinated axons was lower on the operated side 4 and 7 d after sympathectomy.

A Quantitative Electron-Microscopic Analysis of the Axons at the Apex of the Canine Tooth Pulp in the Dog

Cells Tissues Organs, 1987
The morphology of the dog intradental nerves has not been studied in detail, although dogs have been increasingly used in electrophysiological experiments on pulp nerve function. In this investigation electron microscopy and morphometric analysis were used to study the number and dimensions of the axons at the apex of the dog canine tooth.
