Description of large, well‐preserved Enchodus specimens from the Bearpaw Formation of Alberta, Canada

Abstract Fishes of the genus Enchodus were abundant and cosmopolitan in the Late Cretaceous, but are primarily known from isolated remains in Canada. Four well‐preserved fish skulls were recovered in recent years from ammolite mines sampling the Bearpaw Formation of Southern Alberta, and are here referred to Enchodus petrosus Cope, 1874.

In this study, a new type of cylindrical gears has been manufactured by use of CNC hobbing machine. This paper presents a detailed investigation on various characteristics of the gears with curved tooth traces. The contact ratio are calculated. The limits of undercutting and tooth pointing are determined.

Abstract The Itaboraí Basin, Southeastern Brazil, preserved one of the most diverse mammalian faunas from the Paleogene, with Metatheria comprising more than 60% of its diversity.
