Demineralization inhibition of direct tooth-colored restorative materials.

Operative dentistry, 2004
This study compared the demineralization inhibition properties of fluoride releasing tooth-colored restorative materials. Materials evaluated included a giomer (Reactmer, Shofu [RM]), a conventional glass ionomer (Fuji II, GC [FJ]), a resin modified glass ionomer (Fuji II LC, GC [FL]) and a compomer (Dyract AP, Dentsply [DY]).

Salivary acquired pellicle-inspired DpSpSEEKC peptide for the restoration of demineralized tooth enamel

Biomedical Materials, 2017
Salivary acquired pellicle (SAP) is a layer of proteins and glycoproteins of salivary origin that tightly coat the tooth surface. Statherin is an important part of the SAP. The initial six-peptide sequence DpSpSEEK (where pS denotes phosphorylated serine) of the N-terminus of statherin can be immobilized on a hydroxyapatite (HAP) surface and the ...

A comparative histologic study of the pulp-dentinal interface in undemineralized and demineralized tooth sections

Acta Odontologica Scandinavica, 1994
This study examines cellular differences between undemineralized and demineralized tooth sections. The material comprised unerupted and partly erupted third molars. After fixation for 24 h, 10- to 15-microns ground sections were prepared from half of the tooth, using a cutting-grinding system.

Inhibition of enamel demineralization by an ion-releasing tooth-coating material.

American journal of dentistry, 2019
To evaluate the inhibitory effect of a surface pre-reacted glass-ionomer (S-PRG) filler-containing tooth-coating material on enamel demineralization. The outer surface of the S-PRG filler is in a state in which ions are readily released.Human enamel blocks were incubated in lactic acid solution (pH 4.0) with and without a disk (n=6) made of the cured ...
