Our knowledge of the Early Upper Palaeolithic occupation in northern central Europe is very limited, and recent research at the open‐air site of Friedrichsdorf‐Seulberg in Hesse, Germany, provides important new information on the Aurignacian. The site is rather small (26.5 m2) and spatial analysis identified a central hearth with two associated ...

Abstract The marronoid clade is a globally distributed, ecologically diverse group of spiders. It is an important faunal component in both natural and synanthropic environments, and even found in aquatic and extreme habitats such as desert salt flats. The systematics of the marronoid clade has been notoriously unstable due to the widespread character ...

Application of close‐kin mark–recapture to an American black bear population using harvest samples
Abstract Close‐kin mark–recapture (CKMR) offers a promising alternative to traditional mark–recapture methods for estimating wildlife population parameters. CKMR estimates demographic parameters by identifying genetic relationships between individuals, effectively “recapturing” parental genotypes through their offspring's genetic profiles.

Peripheral nerve injury triggers axonal degeneration, myelin breakdown, and Schwann cell reprogramming. Remyelination requires reactivation of the SOX10–OCT6–KROX20/EGR2 transcriptional hierarchy, axonal NRG1–ErbB2/3 signaling, metabolic support, and coordinated immune regulation.

Earthquakes and the Metamorphic Sole of the Tinos Ophiolite, Cyclades, Greece
Abstract We analyze deformation fabrics, compositions of melts, metamorphic temperatures, and paleopiezometric data beneath the Tsiknias Thrust, Tinos, Greece, which formed part of the plate boundary that, in Late‐Cretaceous time, absorbed convergence between Africa and Europe associated with final closure of the Vardar Ocean.

Abstract Baltic amber s.l., the most abundant amber deposit of insect fossils, is essential for understanding the palaeoenvironment of the Eocene, an epoch characterized by severe climate changes, including the warmest period in the entire Cenozoic. The ecological requirements of the extinct lineages can be deduced from the ecology and distribution of ...

On the Mutual Relation Between Contact Ratio and Crack Propagation in the Tooth Root of Spur Gears
ABSTRACT This work investigates the mutual relationship between contact ratio and tooth root crack propagation in spur gears, with particular focus on the influence of meshing stiffness and load sharing on the tooth root lifetime. An experimental case study originally reported by Rettig, in which SN curves of gears with similar geometry but different ...

Abstract Conodonts are known primarily from their microscopic tooth‐like skeletal feeding elements that occur commonly in jumbled assemblages in marine rocks from the late Cambrian to the Triassic–Jurassic boundary interval. Interpreting their evolution requires a scheme of positional homology of these elements within the feeding apparatus, information

Tooth Flank Mismatch Meshing Analysis for Spiral Bevel Gear Based on Tilt Cutting Method
The analysis method of tooth flank mismatch meshing is studied for the spiral bevel gear of automobile drive axle. Firstly, the mathematical model of tilt cutting method is established, and the cradle angle is derived according to the meshing equation,so ...
