ALK5 is essential for tooth germ differentiation during tooth development
Biotechnic and Histochemistry, 2019The TGFβ superfamily of proteins participates in tooth development. TGFβ1 and TGFβ3 regulate odontoblast differentiation and dentin extracellular matrix synthesis. Although the expression of TGFβ family member ligands is well-characterized during mammalian tooth development, less is known about the TGFβ receptor, which is a heteromeric complex ...

Sonographic depiction of fetal tooth germs
Prenatal Diagnosis, 1995AbstractRecently, sonography of the fetal face has gained increasing importance in prenatal diagnosis. It is not yet clear whether sonographic depiction of fetal tooth germs would have an influence on the prenatal diagnosis of ectodermal dysplasia syndromes.

Acidic glycosaminoglucuronoglycans of human tooth germs
European Journal of Oral Sciences, 1973abstract – The acidic glycosaminoglucuronoglycans in germs of primary teeth from three human fetuses have been isolated and identified. The biochemical analysis revealed the presence of hyaluronic acid and chondroitin‐4‐suIfate and/or chondroitin‐6‐sulfate while dermatan sulfate and heparan sulfate were not demonstrated.

Mucopolysaccharide histochemistry of rat tooth germs
Histochemie, 1963The histochemical distribution and localization of acid mucopolysaccharides and glycoproteins have been studied in rat tooth germs and lower joints. After fixation, sections were stained with PAS, alcian blue-PAS, colloidal iron, colloidal iron-PAS, colloidal iron-Feulgen, azure A and safranin O.

[The formation of tooth germs in teratomas].
Annales d'anatomie pathologique, 1979The teeth buds which are observed in some teratomas ought to provide a useful system for the study of the development of organ structures in these tumours. They exhibit well defined characteristics in space and time. In contrast with normal development tooth bud formation in teratomas display malformations and other observable characteristics which are
