The Mechanics of Tooth Mobility
British Journal of Orthodontics, 1980The mechanical principles involved in tooth mobility have been described and applied to derive a formula for the position of the centre of rotation of a tooth. Conclusions about the effects of relevant variables such as load position and root taper are drawn.

Tooth mobility changes in pregnancy
Journal of Periodontal Research, 1967Horizontal tooth mobility of the upper incisors was repeatedly measured with the macroperiodontometer in 7 subjects during pregnancy and until several months after delivery. In 6 periodontally healthy females, a small but statistically significant average change in mobility was found. Mobility was highest during the last month of pregnancy. One subject

Clinical standardization of horizontal tooth mobility*
Journal of Clinical Periodontology, 1980Abstract The clinical measurement of horizontal tooth mobility is discussed on the background of the current theories regarding the pathogenesis of periodontal disease. The common indices which have been designed to measure horizontal tooth mobility are discussed and critiqued.

The relationship between buccolingual tooth mobility (TM) and other clinical parameters was studied in 124 upper anterior teeth in 21 patients with untreated Periodontitis. Periapical long‐cone radiographs were available for 74 teeth in the same population. TM was measured with Miihlemann's macroperiodontometer.

[Tooth mobility and containment].
Revue belge de medecine dentaire, 1990Periodontal destruction often leads to tooth hypermobility. In the presence of jiggling forces, traumatic occlusion can provoke a progressive mobility, and in certain cases, accelerate the periodontal destruction in presence of periodontitis. Treatment of infection alone is enough to stop the periodontal destruction. If the mobility becomes progressive,
