Corneal topography

Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 1997
In the review period, limitations of individual Placido disk-based topography systems have been studied and new principles, such as raster photogrammetry, pancorneal slit topography, laser holographic interferometry, and confocal laser scanning topography, have been introduced for laboratory or clinical work.

Corneal Topography

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1981
We present an introduction to a clinical quantitative corneascope for measurement of corneal topography in detail. This instrument provides contour keratometry in all corneal meridians. We review the normal myopic and hyperopic eye contours, keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, and wound gape and compression related to cataract surgery.

Moiré Topography

Applied Optics, 1975
Using geometrical optics, an oblique-shadow method is shown to generate moiré patterns, which under specific conditions can be interpreted as contour lines of the surface. The oblique-shadow method consists of illuminating a viewing grid with equal spaced parallel lines.

Corneal topography

Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 1993
As more clinicians utilize videokeratography, an understanding of corneal topography is assuming an increasing role in the practice of ophthalmology. During this past year investigators have critically examined the methods employed in the utility of these devices as well as the accuracy and reproducibility of the algorithms embodied in ...

Corneal topography

Documenta Ophthalmologica, 1977
This paper explores the many aspects of the nature and measurement of the corneal surface. Its structure and the factors that influence it are described. The traditional techniques of keratometry are summarized and there is an emphasis on new experimental methods of determining corneal topography including moiré, holographic interferometric and profile
