Selective Inhibition of Integrin β3 Topology Provides a Safer Antithrombotic Strategy
Current integrin αIIbβ3 inhibitors effectively reduce thrombosis but also increase bleeding risk. During thrombosis, high shear blood flow can directly activate the integrin αIIbβ3 via a distinct topological change in the β3 transmembrane domain, independent of hemostatic platelet signaling.

PAIRS TRADING WITH TOPOLOGICAL DATA ANALYSIS
International Journal of Theoretical and Applied Finance, 2023In this paper, we propose a pairs trading strategy using the theory of topological data analysis (TDA). The proposed strategy is model-free. We propose a TDA-based distance to measure dependence between a pair of stochastic processes. We derive an upper bound of this distance in terms of a function of the canonical correlation of the processes, which ...

Inverse Problems, 2011
Inverse problems can be defined as the area of mathematics that attempts to reconstruct a physical or mathematical object from derived data. Frequently, this means the evaluation of parameters or other numerical quantities (such as eigenvalues) that characterize or provide information about the system.

Topological Data Analysis of Biomedical Big Data
2018Technological advances are providing researchers with larger and larger amounts of data, creating a rich landscape for data scientists to explore and search for meaningful patterns. Novel biomedical imaging techniques over the next 5 to 10 years, for instance, will develop their resolution to the point at which single subject scans might provide ...

Topological Data Analysis with Applications
2021The continued and dramatic rise in the size of data sets has meant that new methods are required to model and analyze them. This timely account introduces topological data analysis (TDA), a method for modeling data by geometric objects, namely graphs and their higher-dimensional versions: simplicial complexes.

Classical data processing uses pattern recognition methods such as classification for categorizing data. Such a method may involve a learning process. Modern data science also uses topological methods to find the structural features of data sets. In fact, topological methods should be the first step before the classification method is applied in most ...
