Emergent Spin‐Glass Behavior in an Iron(II)‐Based Metal–Organic Framework Glass

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A one‐pot, solvent‐free synthesis yields an Fe2+‐based metal‐organic framework (MOF) glass featuring a continuous random network structure. The material exhibits spin‐glass freezing at 14 K, driven by topological‐disorder and short‐range magnetic frustration, showcasing the potential of MOF glasses as a plattform for cooperative magnetic phenomena in ...

Topological Entropy of Cournot-Puu Duopoly

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2010
The aim of this paper is to analyze a classical duopoly model introduced by Tönu Puu in 1991. For that, we compute the topological entropy of the model and characterize those parameter values with positive entropy.

Topological entropy of realistic quantum Hall wave functions

open access: yes, 2008
The entanglement entropy of the incompressible states of a realistic quantum Hall system are studied by direct diagonalization. The subdominant term to the area law, the topological entanglement entropy, which is believed to carry information about ...

Topological reflected entropy in Chern-Simons theories [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
We study the reflected entropy between two spatial regions in $(2+1)$-dimensional Chern-Simons theories. Taking advantage of its replica trick formulation, the reflected entropy is computed using the edge theory approach and the surgery method.

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

Entanglement spectrum and entropy in topological non-Hermitian systems and nonunitary conformal field theory [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2019
We propose a method of computing and studying entanglement quantities in non-Hermitian systems by use of a biorthogonal basis. We find that the entanglement spectrum characterizes the topological properties in terms of the existence of mid-gap states in ...

Magnetic Force Microscopy Signatures of Higher‐Order Skyrmions and Antiskyrmions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic force microscopy operated under vacuum conditions enables the qualitative identification of higher‐order skyrmions and antiskyrmions in Co/Ni multilayers at room temperature. Distinct stray‐field contrast signatures arise from vertical Bloch lines and complex domain‐wall configurations.

Braiding Dynamics in Active Nematics

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2022
In active matter systems, energy consumed at the small scale by individual agents gives rise to emergent flows at large scales. For 2D active nematic microtubule (ANMT) systems, these flows are largely characterized by the dynamics of mobile defects in ...

Algebraic Yuzvinski Formula [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In 1965 Adler, Konheim and McAndrew defined the topological entropy for continuous self-maps of compact spaces. Topological entropy is very well-understood for endomorphisms of compact Abelian groups. A fundamental result in this context is the so-called

Topological entropy of DNA sequences [PDF]

open access: yesBioinformatics, 2011
Abstract Motivation: Topological entropy has been one of the most difficult to implement of all the entropy-theoretic notions. This is primarily due to finite sample effects and high-dimensionality problems. In particular, topological entropy has been implemented in previous literature to conclude that entropy of exons is higher than of ...
