Topological entropy for automorphisms of totally disconnected locally compact groups [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
We give a "limit-free formula" simplifying the computation of the topological entropy for topological automorphisms of totally disconnected locally compact groups. This result allows us to extend several basic properties of the topological entropy known to hold for compact groups.

Spin‐Selective Anisotropic Magnetoresistance Driven by Chirality in DNA

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
It is shown that magnetoresistance (MR) measurements carried out as a function of angular dependence between the magnetic field and a chiral (DNA) interface provide a valuable new insight into the charge transport mechanism associated with the chiral‐induced spin selectivity (CISS) effect.

Recurrent points and discrete points for elementary amenable groups

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1992
Let βG be the Stone-Cech compactification of a group G, AG the set of all almost periodic points in βG, KG=cℓ[⋃{suppμφ:φ∈LIM(G)}] and RG the set of all recurrent points in βG.

Single Pair of Weyl Points Evolve From Spin Group‐Protected Nodal Line in Half‐Metallic Ferromagnet V3S4

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A spin group (SG)‐based mechanism is proposed to realize a single pair of Weyl points. PT‐symmetric nodal lines (NLs) persist under T‐breaking, protected by the combination of SG and P symmetry. When considering spin‐orbit coupling, the SG‐protected NL will split into Weyl points, which will also induce anomalous transport phenomena arising from ...

Weakly recurrent and almost periodic points in βG

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1988
Let G be a group. We will study the relationship between AG and WRG. In Nassar [1] it has been shown that if G is a nontorsion group, then AG⫋RG. In this paper we will show that if G contains a subset A such that K.A is not left thick for each finite set

Category of Source Proper Group Space

open access: yesZanco Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences, 2019
Our main interest in this study is to look for group space and the topological groupoid. In this paper, we give some results of group space and the topological groupoid, which are properties source proper group space ...

On the Mackey problem for free abelian topological groups [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Recently Au\ss enhofer and the author independently have shown that the free abelian topological group $A(\mathbf{s})$ over a convergent sequence $\mathbf{s}$ does not admit the strongest compatible locally quasi-convex group topology that gives the first example of a locally quasi-convex abelian group without a Mackey group topology.

Nano‐Topography Enhanced Topological‐Cell‐Analysis in Radiation‐Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy, a treatment that implies exposition of cells to radiation, offers promise to treat cancer. Here, it is hypothesized that the nanoscale details of a scaffold can amplify the response of cells to radiation, measured through topological variables, providing ways to assess the efficacy of Radiotherapy treatment.

A characterization of point semiuniformities

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1996
The concept of a uniformity was developed by A. Well and there have been several generalizations. This paper defines a point semiuniformity and gives necessary and sufficient conditions for a topological space to be point semiuniformizable.

Subgroups of monothetic groups [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Group Theory 3 (2000), 407-417., 1999
It is shown that every separable abelian topological group is isomorphic with a topological subgroup of a monothetic group (that is, a topological group with a single topological generator). In particular, every separable metrizable abelian group embeds into a metrizable monothetic group.
