Brandt Extensions and Primitive Topological Inverse Semigroups [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2010
We study (countably) compact and (absolutely) 𝐻-closed primitive topological inverse semigroups. We describe the structure of compact and countably compact primitive topological inverse semigroups and show that any countably compact primitive topological

Topological Additively Representable Semigroups

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1997
A totally ordered set \((S,\lesssim)\) is called representable if there exists a map \(\mu: X\to\mathbb{R}\) such that \(x\lesssim y\) if and only if \(\mu(x) \leq\mu(y)\) for every \(x,y\in X\). This paper is to extend the above concept to totally ordered connected topological semigroups.

Thickness in topological transformation semigroups

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1993
This article deals with thickness in topological transformation semigroups (τ-semigroups). Thickness is used to establish conditions guaranteeing an invariant mean on a function space defined on a τ-semigroup if there exists an invariant mean on its ...

On continuity of homomorphisms between topological Clifford semigroups

open access: yesKarpatsʹkì Matematičnì Publìkacìï, 2014
Generalizing an old result of Bowman we prove that a homomorphism $f:X\to Y$ between topological Clifford semigroups is continuous if • the idempotent band $E_X=\{x\in X:xx=x\}$ of $X$ is a $V$-semilattice; • the topological Clifford semigroup

Some faces of Smarandache semigroups' concept in transformation semigroups' approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In the following text, the main aim is to distinguish some relations between Smarad- che semigroups and (topological) transformation semigroups areas.

Semigroups of Right Quotients of Topological Semigroups [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1970

The Translational Hull of a Topological Semigroup [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1976
This paper is concerned with three aspects of the study of topological versions of the translational hull of a topological semigroup. These include topological properties, applications to the general theory of topological semigroups, and techniques for computing the translational hull. The central result of this paper is that if

Presentations of inverse semigroups, their kernels and extensions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
"Part of this work was done while Gray was an EPSRC Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of St Andrews, Scotland"Let S be an inverse semigroup and let π:S→T be a surjective homomorphism with kernel K.

Pettis property for Polish inverse semigroups

open access: yesApplied General Topology, 2023
We study a property about Polish inverse semigroups similar to the classical theorem of Pettis about Polish groups. In contrast to what happens with Polish groups, not every Polish inverse semigroup have the Pettis property.
