Mechanotransducing Organic Electrochemical Diode for Crosstalk‐Inhibited Artificial Skin

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach is presented to a stretchable mechanotransducing diode that unifies rectification and tactile‐sensing functionality. This approach enables to fabricate the diode that maintains a large rectification ratio (5 × 102) at a high operational frequency (100 Hz).

Perspective: Floquet engineering topological states from effective models towards realistic materials

open access: yesQuantum Frontiers
With significant advances in classifying and cataloguing topological matter, the focus of topological physics has shifted towards quantum control, particularly the creation and manipulation of topological phases of matter.

Modulated Floquet Topological Insulators

open access: yes, 2013
Floquet topological insulators are topological phases of matter generated by the application of time-periodic perturbations on otherwise conventional insulators.

Exotic phenomena in topological states of matter

open access: yes, 2014
Electronic states in band insulators and semimetals can form nontrivial topological structures which can be classified by introducing a set of well defined topological invariants. There are interesting experimentally observable phenomena tied to these topological invariants which are robust as long as the invariants remain well-defined.

Selective Charge Injection via Topological van der Waals Contacts for Barrier‐Free p‐Type TMD Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Topological van der Waals contacts represent a new class of electrodes for 2D semiconductors, enabling precise control of the Schottky barrier height (SBH) and contact resistance (RC) through interlayer distance and orbital hybridization engineering. In Se‐based transition metal dichalcogenides, these contacts achieve an ultralow SBH of 7 meV, RC of 0.

Viscoelasticity‐Induced Controllable Periodic Meso‐Textures of Liquid Crystal Polymers in Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Viscoelasticity‐driven instabilities are harnessed to create tunable, periodic textures in 3D‐printed liquid crystalline polymers. This study illustrates how processing parameters control these spontaneous meso‐scale patterns. These unique structural architectures unlock new possibilities for functional devices, ranging from photonic components to ...

Effective gauge theories of superfluidity with topological order

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We discuss the low-energy dynamics of superfluidity with topological order in (3 + 1) spacetime dimensions. We generalize a topological BF theory by introducing a non-square K matrix, and this generalized BF theory can describe massless Nambu-Goldstone ...

Astrocyte‐Guided Maturation of Neural Constructs in a Modular Biosynthetic Hydrogel for Biohybrid Neurotechnologies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A modular biosynthetic PVA–gelatin hydrogel crosslinked via visible‐light thiol‐ene chemistry is engineered as a coating for neural electrodes. Optimizing matrix composition and mechanical properties enables the hydrogel to support astrocytic populations that guide neural differentiation and functional maturation.

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

A Study of Asymptotic Freedom like Behavior for Topological States of Matter

open access: yes, 2018
We present results for asymptotic freedom like behavior for the topological state of the helical spin liquid system with finite proximity induced superconducting gap. We derive two different quantum Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless (BKT) equations for the two different limit of this model Hamiltonian.
