Photoinduced Topological Phase Transitions in Topological Magnon Insulators [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
AbstractTopological magnon insulators are the bosonic analogs of electronic topological insulators. They are manifested in magnetic materials with topologically nontrivial magnon bands as realized experimentally in a quasi-two-dimensional (quasi-2D) kagomé ferromagnet Cu(1–3, bdc), and they also possess protected magnon edge modes.

Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

Visualization of spin-polarized surface resonances in Pb-based ternary topological insulators

open access: yesScientific Reports
The formation of the topological surface state originates from bulk band inversion at the top of the valence band and the bottom of the conduction band.

TRANSITIVITY IN POINT-FREE TOPOLOGY [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Australian Mathematical Society, 2009
AbstractThe main purpose of this paper is to develop a point-free notion of topological transitivity. First, we define transitive frame maps and transitive completely prime filters inFrm, the category of frames and frame maps. Then we discuss the relationship between these notions inFrmand the notions of topological transitive and transitive points ...

Viscoelasticity‐Induced Controllable Periodic Meso‐Textures of Liquid Crystal Polymers in Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Viscoelasticity‐driven instabilities are harnessed to create tunable, periodic textures in 3D‐printed liquid crystalline polymers. This study illustrates how processing parameters control these spontaneous meso‐scale patterns. These unique structural architectures unlock new possibilities for functional devices, ranging from photonic components to ...

Coexisting Rashba/Dresselhaus Spin Splitting in Solution‐Processed Bournonite Films Using Circular Photogalvanic Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Circular photogalvanic effect measurements and first‐principles calculations reveal spin‐splitting states in solution‐processed bournonite films (CuPbSbS3) due to structural and bulk inversion asymmetry. The results provide experimental confirmation of coexisting Rashba and Dresselhaus spin‐splitting states in this non‐centrosymmetric chalcogenide ...

Signatures of topological phase transitions in mesoscopic superconducting rings

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2013
We investigate Josephson currents in mesoscopic rings with a weak link which are in or near a topological superconducting phase. As a paradigmatic example, we consider the Kitaev model of a spinless p-wave superconductor in one dimension, emphasizing how

Topological Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev Model

open access: yes, 2018
In this letter we construct a large-N exactly solvable model to study the interplay between interaction and topology, by connecting Sacheve-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) model with constant hopping.

Chiral Nanohoops as an Efficient Spin Polarization System

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Chiral conjugated nanohoops with a central dibenzopentalene unit exhibit 90% spin polarization at low voltage and high conductivity. These properties make them ideal components in molecular spintronics applications. Abstract A central challenge in molecular spintronics is to achieve a high spin polarization at low operating voltages and ambient ...

Strongly Correlated Topological Superconductors and Topological Phase Transitions via Green's Function

open access: yes, 2012
We propose several topological order parameters expressed in terms of Green's function at zero frequency for topological superconductors, which generalizes the previous work for interacting insulators.
