Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Topological deconfinement transition in QCD at finite isospin density

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2017
The confinement–deconfinement transition is discussed from topological viewpoints. The topological change of the system is achieved by introducing the dimensionless imaginary chemical potential (θ).

Topological quantum transition driven by charge-phonon coupling in higher-order topological insulators

open access: yes, 2023
We investigate a second-order topological quantum transition of a modified Kane-Mele model driven by electron-phonon interaction. The results show that the system parameters of the bare modified Kane-Mele model are renormalized by the electron-phonon ...

Effectiveness of rTMS on Working Memory and Inhibitory Impairments in Patients With Post‐Stroke Executive Deficits

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Considerable efforts have been dedicated to developing effective treatments for post‐stroke executive impairment (PSEI), among which repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has shown great potential. This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of high‐frequency rTMS on working memory (WM) and response ...

Topological hyperbolic metamaterials

open access: yesNanophotonics
Hyperbolic metamaterial (HMM) is a unique type of anisotropic material that can exhibit metal and dielectric properties at the same time. This unique characteristic results in it having unbounded isofrequency surface contours, leading to exotic phenomena

Topological weak-measurement-induced geometric phases revisited

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
We present an analytical and numerical study of a class of geometric phase induced by weak measurements. In particular, we analyze the dependence of the geometric phase on the winding (W) of the polar angle (φ), upon a sequence of N weak measurements of ...

Propagation of a topological transition: The Rayleigh instability [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics of Fluids, 1998
The Rayleigh capillary instability of a cylindrical interface between two immiscible fluids is one of the most fundamental in fluid dynamics. As Plateau observed from energetic considerations and Rayleigh clarified through hydrodynamics, such an interface is linearly unstable to fission due to surface tension.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

ANDERSON TRANSITIONS: CRITICALITY, SYMMETRIES AND TOPOLOGIES [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics B, 2010
The physics of Anderson transitions between localized and metallic phases in disordered systems is reviewed. We focus on the character of criticality as well as on underlying symmetries and topologies that are crucial for understanding phase diagrams and the critical behavior.

Interaction effects in topological insulators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
textIn this thesis we employ various mean-field approaches to study the shortrange interaction effects in topological insulators. We start with the Kane-Mele model on the decorated honeycomb lattice and study the stability of topological insulator ...
