Topological Blockade and Measurement of Topological Charge [PDF]
Physical Review Letters, 2013 The fractionally charged quasiparticles appearing in the 5/2 fractional quantum Hall plateau are predicted to have an extra non-local degree of freedom, known as topological charge. We show how this topological charge can block the tunnelling of these particles, and how such 'topological blockade' can be used to readout their topological charge.

Games and Economic Behavior, 2023 We examine the complexity of the ``Texas Hold'em'' variant of poker from a topological perspective. We show that there exists a natural simplicial complex governing the multi-way winning probabilities between various hands, and that this simplicial complex contains $4$-dimensional spheres as induced subcomplexes.

The Mackey topology as a mixed topology [PDF]
Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1975 A theorem on the coincidence of a mixed topology and the Mackey topology is given. The techniques of partitions of unity are used. As a corollary, a result of LeCam and Conway on the strict topology is obtained. Similar methods are applied to obtain a theorem of Collins and Dorroh.
