Topological Digital Topology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The usefulness of topology in science and mathematics means that topological spaces must be studied, and computers should be used in this study. We discuss how many useful spaces (including all compact Hausdorff spaces) can be approximated by finite spaces, and these finite spaces are completely determined by their specialization orders.

Error-Correcting Codes on Projective Bundles over Deligne–Lusztig Varieties

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
The aim of this article is to give lower bounds on the parameters of algebraic geometric error-correcting codes constructed from projective bundles over Deligne–Lusztig surfaces.

Singularities and Topology of Meromorphic Functions

open access: yes, 2002
We present several aspects of the "topology of meromorphic functions", which we conceive as a general theory which includes the topology of holomorphic functions, the topology of pencils on quasi-projective spaces and the topology of polynomial functions.

Topological censorship [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 1993
All three-manifolds are known to occur as Cauchy surfaces of asymptotically flat vacuum spacetimes and of spacetimes with positive-energy sources. We prove here the conjecture that general relativity does not allow an observer to probe the topology of spacetime: any topological structure collapses too quickly to allow light to traverse it.

Topology of Neutral Hydrogen Within the Small Magellanic Cloud

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper, genus statistics have been applied to an HI column density map of the Small Magellanic Cloud in order to study its topology. To learn how topology changes with the scale of the system, we provide the study of topology for column density ...

Polishness of some topologies related to word or tree automata [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We prove that the B\"uchi topology and the automatic topology are Polish. We also show that this cannot be fully extended to the case of a space of infinite labelled binary trees; in particular the B\"uchi and the Muller topologies are not Polish in this

DEGENERATE DISTRIBUTED CONTROL SYSTEMS WITH FRACTIONAL TIME DERIVATIVE

open access: yesUral Mathematical Journal, 2016
The existence of a unique strong solution for the Cauchy problem to semilinear nondegenerate fractional differential equation and for the generalized Showalter–Sidorov problem to semilinear fractional differential equation with degenerate operator at the

Topology by dissipation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Topological states of fermionic matter can be induced by means of a suitably engineered dissipative dynamics. Dissipation then does not occur as a perturbation, but rather as the main resource for many-body dynamics, providing a targeted cooling into a ...

Composite Topological Objects in Topological Superfluids [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Experimental and Theoretical Physics, 2020
Superfluid phases of $^3$He discovered in 1972 opened the new area of the application of topological methods to condensed matter systems. Due to the multi-component order parameter which characterizes the broken $SO(3)\times SO(3)\times U(1)$ symmetry in these phases, there are many inhomogeneous objects -- textures and defects in the order parameter ...
