Isomeric 1,4‐Dihydropentalene‐Containing Building Blocks for High Mobility Ladder‐Type Conjugated Polymers

We report the synthesis of two novel isomeric derivatives of 5,10‐dihydroindeno[2,1‐a]indeneo (DHI), incorporating a thieno group to reduce torsional disorder. The anti‐C16DHIT and syn‐C16DHIT isomers differ in conjugation characteristics, with the anti‐isomer showing fully delocalized conjugation, whereas syn isomer exhibiting cross‐conjugation.

Multistable Physical Neural Networks
