Spectral Signatures of Nontrivial Topology in a Superconducting Circuit

open access: yesPhysical Review X
Topology, like symmetry, is a fundamental concept in understanding general properties of physical systems. In condensed matter, nontrivial topology may manifest itself as singular features in the energy spectrum or the quantization of electrical ...

Optimal Hierarchical Control of Isolated Microgrids

open access: yesTecnoLógicas, 2022
The objective of this article is to propose a novel method that uses hierarchical control to efficiently manage power resources in an isolated Direct Current (DC) microgrid. The scope of this paper is limited to a numerical study of the components of the

Automatic synthesis of analog layout : a survey [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
A review of recent research in the automatic synthesis of physical geometry for analog integrated circuits is presented. On introduction, an explanation of the difficulties involved in analog layout as opposed to digital layout is covered.

Switching From Acceptor to FRET Donor: How the Organic Solar Cell Architecture Can Change the Role of a Chromophore

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The non‐fullerene acceptor o‐IDT‐BT‐DCV is used in both binary and ternary blends to investigate the role that it plays in each device architecture. The charge generation pathways are found to differ between the binary and ternary blends with o‐IDT‐BT‐DCV becoming a second donor in the ternary blend.

Stability, Causality, and Passivity of Canonical Equivalent Circuits for Improper Rational Transfer Functions—Part II: With Complex-Conjugate Poles and Residues

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of stability/causality/passivity (SCP) for improper rational transfer functions (TFs) with complex-conjugate pair of poles/residues, as an extension of real poles/residues case in our previous work.

3D Nano‐architected Polymer Shell Enables Reconfigurable Stabilized Blue Phase Soft Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Spherical polymer shells featuring nanostructure of blue phase (BP) disclinations form via in situ photo‐polymerization within BP liquid crystals, providing controlled anchoring for BP nucleation and growth at room temperature and beyond. This architected confinement enhances BP thermal stability over a broad temperature range while enabling dynamic ...

Multi-stability and pattern-selection in oscillatory networks with fast inhibition and electrical synapses. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2008
A model or hybrid network consisting of oscillatory cells interconnected by inhibitory and electrical synapses may express different stable activity patterns without any change of network topology or parameters, and switching between the patterns can be ...

Non-Hermitian higher-order topological states in nonreciprocal and reciprocal systems with their electric-circuit realization [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. B 99, 201411(R) (2019), 2018
A prominent feature of some one-dimensional non-Hermitian systems is that all right-eigenstates of the non-Hermitian Hamiltonian are localized in one end of the chain. The topological and trivial phases are distinguished by the emergence of zero-energy modes within the skin states in the presence of the chiral symmetry.

Electric-circuit simulation of the Schrödinger equation and non-Hermitian quantum walks [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. B 100, 165419 (2019), 2019
Recent progress has witnessed that various topological physics can be simulated by electric circuits under alternating current. However, it is still a nontrivial problem if it is possible to simulate the dynamics subject to the Schr\"{o}dinger equation based on electric circuits.
