Efficacy and factors influencing toric orthokeratology lenses in managing moderate to high astigmatic myopia

open access: yesOptometry and Vision Science, Volume 102, Issue 6, Page 387-393, June 2025.
SIGNIFICANCE: Toric orthokeratology lenses show potential in slowing myopia progression in adolescents with moderate to high astigmatic myopia. These findings support the broader application of toric orthokeratology in managing challenging refractive conditions and mitigating myopia‐related complications. PURPOSE: This study seeks to probe the efficacy

Intraocular lens power calculation accuracy in patients with keratoconus: Network meta‐analysis and systematic review

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Ophthalmology, Volume 53, Issue 4, Page 356-373, May/June 2025.
Abstract Background Accurate intraocular lens (IOL) calculation in eyes with keratoconus (KCN) poses significant challenges. While various formulas, including KCN‐specific ones, have been investigated, the optimal calculation method remains inconclusive. Methods The study was pre‐registered in PROSPERO (CRD42023483119).

Intraoperative capsular marking for toric intraocular lens placement

open access: yesTaiwan Journal of Ophthalmology, 2020
Preoperatively, the surgeon instills two drops of 0.5% proparacaine and then marks the 0° and 180° points at the limbus using a Gentian violet marker and 26G needle edge. Intraoperatively, after phacoemulsification and irrigation and aspiration of the cortex are complete, the surgeon inspects the previously marked 0°-180° points on the limbus.

Variation of Bruch's membrane opening in response to intraocular pressure change during scleral lens wear, in a population with keratoconus

open access: yesOphthalmic and Physiological Optics, Volume 45, Issue 2, Page 405-415, March 2025.
Abstract Purpose The present study aimed to determine the potential impact of scleral lenses on intraocular pressure (IOP) by analysing the Bruch's membrane opening–minimum rim width (BMO‐MRW) while the lenses are worn, in a population with keratoconus.

AcrySof toric intraocular lens for post-keratoplasty astigmatism

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2012
We report a 63-year-old male who had undergone left eye optical penetrating keratoplasty for central leucomatous corneal opacity 10 years earlier. The eye had clear donor graft with residual astigmatism of -6.50 diopter cylinder (DC) at 30°. The patient underwent clear corneal phacoemulsification with implantation of +6.0 D spherical equivalent AcrySof
