Toric intraocular lens in asymmetric astigmatism

International Ophthalmology, 2020
The aim of this study is to report our results of toric intraocular lens (IOL) implantation in patients with asymmetric astigmatism, its efficacy and safety in reducing the refractive cylinder. This is a retrospective cohort study. Patients with asymmetric astigmatism and non-progressive corneal ectasia, unable to fit hard contact lenses, with poor ...

Toric Intraocular Lens Calculations—Reply

Archives of Ophthalmology, 2012
[Extract] We thank Dr Simpson for pointing out the typographical error in our article.1 He is correct. The formula should have read E = F /[1 + (d /1.336) F]. All calculations in the article were done using this correct formula, and the formula in the article has been corrected.

TORIC LENS VOLUME

Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics, 1982
Abstract Theory is derived for the calculation of the volume of type‐ and barrel‐form torie lenses. The integral produced is evaluated using an approximate method of integration. Differences between the two volumes are considered insignificant in the corner of spectacle lens manufacture.

Comparison of toric intraocular lens alignment error with different toric markers

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2019
To compare the error in intraocular lens (IOL) toric alignment of 2 toric markers.Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth, Western Australia, Australia.Retrospective case series. Two consecutive groups of patients had cataract surgery with implantation of an AcrySof SN6A toric IOL (versions T2-T8) by the same surgeon at 2 public hospitals.

Toric intraocular lens implantation: 100 consecutive cases

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2002
To evaluate the first 100 consecutive cases of toric posterior chamber silicone intraocular lens (IOL) implantation by 2 community-based ophthalmologists. Two private practices in western Virginia, USA.Data on the first 100 consecutive toric IOL implantations in 81 patients were collected in a prospective manner.

Clinical Evaluation of Toric Soft Lens Reproducibility

Optometry and Vision Science, 2002
The manufacturing variability of frequent replacement toric soft lenses is such that some resulting variation in clinical performance can be expected. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of manufacturing variability on the clinical performance of three frequent replacement toric soft contact lenses. This was a three-part study in which ...

An International Survey of Toric Contact Lens Prescribing

Eye & Contact Lens: Science & Clinical Practice, 2013
To characterize toric contact lens prescribing worldwide.Up to 1,000 survey forms were sent to contact lens fitters in up to 39 countries between January and March every year for 5 consecutive years (2007-2011). Practitioners were asked to record data relating to the first 10 contact lens fits or refits performed after receiving the survey form.

Factors influencing hydrogel toric lens rotation

International Contact Lens Clinic, 1989
Abstract This study assessed the influence of refractive power variation, corneal topography, and initial wearing time on the rotation of BAUSCH & LOMB® OPTIMA™ Toric lenses. Twenty-three patients wore all combinations of two sphere powers (+3.OOD, −3.OOD), two cylinder powers (−.75D, −2.75D), and three axes (45, 90,180) for 15 minutes each.

Laser-assisted marking for toric intraocular lens alignment

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2016
We describe a technique of 3-dimensional spectral-domain optical coherence tomography-controlled laser-assisted corneal marking for toric intraocular lens implantation. To facilitate accurate alignment, the technique creates 2 perpendicular intrastromal incisions (width 0.75 mm) using an image-guided femtosecond laser.

Long-term Staar Toric Intraocular Lens Rotational Stability

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 2008
To evaluate the long-term rotational stability of Staar toric intraocular lens (IOL) implants from two weeks after cataract surgery until two weeks after laser posterior capsulotomy.Retrospective interventional case series. One hundred and fifteen eyes of 72 patients were implanted with Staar toric IOL models AA4203TF and AA4203TL (Staar Surgical Co ...
