Shells in a toroidal nucleus in the intermediate-mass region
Attention is fixed on shells in toroidal nuclei in the intermediate mass region using a toroidal single-particle potential. We find that there are toroidal shells in the intermediate mass region with large single-particle energy gaps at various nucleon numbers located at different toroidal deformations characterized by the aspect ratios of toroidal ...

Combined surrogate model for stress prediction of spherical bulkhead with openings
ObjectiveA spherical bulkhead with openings has many structural parameters, and it is time-consuming and laborious to directly use the finite element method to carry out parameter research.

Edge Fluid Turbulence Simulations of Stellarators With GRILLIX
ABSTRACT The edge fluid turbulence code GRILLIX has recently been extended from axisymmetric tokamak geometries to support 3D stellarator configurations. Following successful proof‐of‐principle simulations published in Stegmeir et al., we present here a comprehensive simulation of the Wendelstein 7‐AS stellarator.

This work presents a bottom‐up strategy for forming meta‐structures built from DNA‐assembled nanoparticle superlattices, establishing a versatile platform for multiscale photonic materials design. Confinement stabilizes non‐equilibrium crystal habits and enables geometry and mode control independent of lattice symmetry.

Origin of the Twice-90° Rotations of the Polarization Angle in GRB 170114A and GRB 160821A
The observed abrupt twice-90° rotations of the polarization angle (PA) in the prompt phase of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are difficult to understand within the current one-emitting-shell models.

On photons and matter inversion spheres from complex super-spinars accretion structures
Our analysis focus on the dragging effects on the accretion flows and jet emission in Kerr super-spinars. These attractors are characterized by peculiar accretion structures as double tori, or special dragged tori in the ergoregion, produced by the ...

We present the first crystal structures of human NIF3, revealing a dynamic, hexameric ring with a central cavity regulated by flexible insertion domains. Crucially, human NIF3 features a mononuclear zinc‐binding site, marking a distinct evolutionary departure from the dinuclear centers of bacterial homologs.

Dual mechanisms give rise to biphasic stomatal opening in onion
Anisotropic guard cell wall stiffness enhances onion stomatal pore opening by increasing guard cell arc length. Summary Stomata are controllable micropores on the leaf surface that regulate gas exchange and water loss. Pore aperture adjustment is a mechanical process whereby changes in guard cell turgor drive changes in cell shape, resulting in ...
