Orbital torque: Torque generation by orbital current injection [PDF]
We propose a mechanism of torque generation by injection of an orbital current, which we call $\textit{orbital torque}$. In a magnetic bilayer consisting of a nonmagnet (NM) and a ferromagnet (FM), we consider a situation where the spin-orbit coupling (SOC) is present only in the FM.

Efficient conversion of orbital Hall current to spin current for spin-orbit torque switching [PDF]
Spin Hall effect, an electric generation of spin current, allows for efficient control of magnetization. Recent theory revealed that orbital Hall effect creates orbital current, which can be much larger than spin-Hall-induced spin current.

Observation of Spin Splitting Torque in a Collinear Antiferromagnet RuO_{2}. [PDF]
Current-induced spin torques provide efficient data writing approaches for magnetic memories. Recently, the spin splitting torque (SST) was theoretically predicted, which combines advantages of conventional spin transfer torque (STT) and spin-orbit ...

Maximizing Spin-Orbit Torque Generated by the Spin Hall Effect of Pt [PDF]
Efficient generation of spin-orbit torques is central for the exciting field of spin-orbitronics. Platinum, the archetypal spin Hall material, has the potential to be an outstanding provider for spin-orbit torques due to its giant spin Hall conductivity,

Orbital torque in magnetic bilayers
The orbital Hall effect describes the generation of the orbital current flowing in a perpendicular direction to an external electric field, analogous to the spin Hall effect.

Quantitative predictions are presented of a depletion-induced torque and force acting on a single colloidal hard rod immersed in a solvent of hard spheres close to a planar hard wall. This torque and force, which are entirely of entropic origin, may play an important role for the key-lock principle, where a biological macromolecule (the key) is only ...

Spin-Torque Switching with the Giant Spin Hall Effect of Tantalum [PDF]
Giant Spin Hall One of the primary challenges in the field of spin-electronics, which exploits the electron's spin rather than its charge, is to create strong currents of electrons with polarized spins.

Single-shot dynamics of spin–orbit torque and spin transfer torque switching in three-terminal magnetic tunnel junctions [PDF]
Current-induced spin-transfer torques (STT) and spin–orbit torques (SOT) enable the electrical switching of magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) in non-volatile magnetic random access memories.
