Assembling a True “Olympic Gel” From over 16 000 Combinatorial DNA Rings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Olympic gels are an elusive class of soft matter, consisting of molecular networks held together purely by mechanically interlocked rings. Their topological structure promises unique properties and functions, but their synthesis has proven notoriously difficult.

Miniature Soft Robot With Magnetically Reprogrammable Surgical Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Miniature soft robots have great prospects to revolutionize minimally invasive treatments. Here we present a miniature soft robot, which can be reprogrammed to perform five surgical functionalities with six‐degrees‐of‐freedom motions. This soft robot can prospectively make minimally invasive surgery considerably safer and painless, and enable ...

Direct Torque Control of Induction Motor Based on Sliding Mode Variable Structure

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2012
In view of problems of big flux linkage and torque ripple, imprecise low speed control of conventional direct torque control of induction motors, the paper proposed a new direct torque control method based on sliding mode variable structure on basis of ...

Resistance to Overdoping Allows Over 2000 S cm−1 Conductivity in P(g3BTTT) With Anion‐Exchange Doping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Anion‐exchange doping of conjugated polymers is an effective way to achieve high conductivities. Here, we report over 2000 S cm−1 electrical conductivity for doped P(g3BTTT). In addition, we show that P(g3BTTT) sustains exceptionally high doping levels without any drop in the charge mobility.

Predictive torque control of induction motor drive

open access: yes, 2023
This chapter summarizes the application of Model Predictive Control (MPC) technique to a two-level inverter driven induction motor (IM) drive. There are two types of MPC: continuous control set MPC (CCS-MPC) and finite control set MPC (FCS-MPC).
