Torque characteristics of TSCAOI configured induction generators
2016 IEEE 2nd Annual Southern Power Electronics Conference (SPEC), 2016Three-phase cage induction machines, configured in two series-connected and one isolated (TSCAOI) configuration, have earlier been proposed for variable speed single-phase electricity generation. Although steady-state characteristics of TSCAOI generators have previously been investigated, both the nature of torque due to unbalanced operation and its ...

Generalized torque analysis of magnetic uniaxial anisotropy
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1991A method for analyzing uniaxial torque data has been developed. The analysis provides a reliable method of finding the magnetization, first- and second-order uniaxial anisotropy constants, and associated confidence intervals. Based on the well-known 45 degrees C method, the technique analyzes data taken at any angle and provides for determination of K ...

Torque generated by orthogonal acoustic waves—Theory
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1981An analytical calculation of the torque generated by orthogonal waves is reported. This torque is a result of a viscous effect, rather than the Bernoulli effect as in Rayleigh’s torque. The agreement between the reported experimental values and this calculation is excellent.

The International journal of oral & maxillofacial implants, 1994
This study evaluated the ability of practitioners experienced in the use of Brãnemark implant components to impart a desired torque using handheld screwdrivers. The torque output and variability of mechanical torque devices was also examined. For clinicians using handheld screwdrivers, values ranged from 0.7 to 18.1 Ncm, 1.4 to 33.7 Ncm, and 8.2 to 36 ...

Electric arc furnace impact on generator torque
IEEE PES Power Systems Conference and Exposition, 2004., 2005Electric arc furnaces draw power in pulses at approximately 5-6 Hz. This pulsing load is generally modeled as step-load-step-unload where the step is a complete load and complete unload. This step in power creates a step in the electrical torque of a generator supplying electricity to the electric arc furnace.

The Torque Tensor or the General Machine
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. Part III: Power Apparatus and Systems, 1962The general machine described in this paper, and also in a previous one by the author,1 includes all conventional electric machines and models of analysis as special cases. In this paper, the typical elements of the inductance matrix and torque tensor are derived. From these, the impedance matrix and torque tensor of any electric machine can be readily

Flashover torque of a D-C generator
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Part II: Applications and Industry, 1953THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS have witnessed a rapid increase in the use of diesel-electric locomotives. In the course of day-to-day operation, the electrical drive of these locomotives is subject to frequent and severe transient load surges. This type of operation — particularly in a locomotive environment conducive to the accumulation of dirt, dust, oil ...
