Proximal versus Distal Screw Placement for Biceps Tenodesis: A Biomechanical Study
Purpose To assess the maximum and end torque of a fourth-generation composite humerus model with no screw inserted or with a screw inserted in the distal (subpectoral) position or proximal (suprapectoral) position.

Effects of spin current on ferromagnets
When a spin-polarized current flows through a ferromagnet, the local magnetization receives a spin torque. Two consequences of this spin torque are studied.

Thermophysical Properties of the Desulphurization Slags With Various CaS and CaO/Al2O3 Ratio
This article investigates how CaS content and the CaO/Al2O3 ratio influence the thermophysical properties of desulphurization slags. Using experimental measurements and thermodynamic simulations, this study reveals complex effects on viscosity, surface tension, and density, providing new insight into slag structure and phase behavior under ...

Effect of operating conditions on gearbox noise [PDF]
Low contact ratio spur gears were tested in the NASA gear noise rig to study the noise radiated from the top of the gearbox. The measured sound power from the gearbox top was obtained from a near field acoustic intensity scan taken at 63 nodes just above

Through direct application of porous transport layer (PTL) on the bipolar plate (BPP) with thermal spraying, the interfacial contact resistance is improved. With the cold gas sprayed BPP–PTL coating system, a proton exchange membrane water electrolysis cell with a cell voltage of Ucell = 1.9 V can be operated up to i = 2.5 A/cm2 in a dynamic mode ...

Improved spectral stability in spin transfer nano-oscillators: single vortex versus coupled vortices dynamics [PDF]
We perform a comparative study of spin transfer induced excitation of the gyrotropic motion of a vortex core with either uniform or vortex spin polarizers. The microwave output voltage associated with the vortex dynamics, detected in both cases, displays

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.
