Predictive Direct Torque Control for Flux and Torque Ripple Reduction [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2010
In this paper, a prediction scheme is presented to diminish both the torque and flux ripples in a direct torque control (DTC) induction motor drive. In a discrete implementation of the classical DTC scheme, the time delay associated with data processing results in additional torque and flux ripples.

A fractional delay variable frequency repetitive control for torque ripple reduction in PMSMs [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2017
Based on the internal model principle, repetitive controller (RC) is capable to reduce periodic torque ripple by generating a compensating action that consequently need to be synchronized with the original ripple.

Advanced Torque Ripple Minimization of Synchronous Reluctance Machine for Electric Vehicle Application

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
The electric machine and the control system determine the performance of the electric vehicle drivetrain. Unlike rare-earth magnet machines such as permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs), synchronous reluctance machines(SynRMs) are manufactured ...

Hybrid control using fuzzy logic and adaptive space vector modulation for reduction of torque ripples in PM-BLDC motor drive

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Applied Science, 2023
A novel hybrid control strategy for reducing torque ripple in permanent magnet brushless direct current motors has been developed by combining the deterministic nature of direct torque control and the adaptive nature of fuzzy logic control. Direct torque

Design and Development of Low Torque Ripple Variable-Speed Drive System With Six-Phase Switched Reluctance Motors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Switched reluctance motor (SRM) drives conventionally use current control techniques at low speed and voltage control techniques at high speed. However, these conventional methods usually fail to restrain the torque ripple, which is normally associated ...

PI-based direct torque control of PMSM for torque ripple reduction

open access: yesWorld Journal of Advanced Research and Reviews, 2023
This paper addresses the challenge of torque ripple in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs) through the implementation of a Proportional-Integral (PI)-based Direct Torque Control (DTC) strategy. Torque ripple, a phenomenon affecting motor performance, is mitigated by leveraging the simplicity and fast response of DTC, augmented by the precision ...

Torque Ripple Reduction Method of Switched Reluctance Motor Based on Five-Level Converter

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao, 2022
Aimed at the problem of large torque ripple and low efficiency caused by the poor current tracking effect of switched reluctance motor (SRM), a torque ripple reduction method of switched reluctance motor based on a five-level converter is proposed.

Torque Quality Improvement in Induction Motor for Electric Vehicle Application Based on Teamwork Optimization

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2022
The tailpipe emission caused by the vehicles using internal combustion engines is a significant source of air pollution. To reduce the health hazards caused by air pollution, advanced countries are now adopting the use of Electric Vehicles (EVs).
