Cost-Effective and High-Efficiency Variable-Speed Switched Reluctance Drives With Ring-Connected Winding Configuration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This paper presents a novel converter topology for six-phase switched reluctance motor (SRM) drives, which reduces the number of switches and diodes by half, compared with the conventional asymmetric half-bridge converter, but needs no additional energy ...

A New Structure for PMG-Based WECSs With Battery Storage Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This paper develops and tests the performance of a new structure for grid-connected permanent magnet generator (PMG)-based wind energy conversion systems (WECSs) that have battery storage units (BSUs). The new structure is called the split dc-bus, and it

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

A Modular Approach for Cooperative Energy Management of Hybrid Electric Vehicles Considering Predictive Information

open access: yesIEEE Access
Energy management strategies (EMSs) for hybrid vehicles have been extensively studied to achieve high system efficiency. EMSs usually focus on the torque split between the electric motor and the main power source. Other powertrain components, such as the

A novel spherical actuator: Design and control [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The paper describes the design and control of a novel spherical permanent magnet actuator which is capable of two-degrees-freedom and a high specific torque. Based on an analytical actuator model, an optimal design procedure is developed to yield maximum

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Analytical Prediction of Optimal Split Ratio for Maximum Torque Per Copper Loss in AFPM Machines

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications
The axial flux permanent magnet (AFPM) synchronous machine has advantages of high torque density and high efficiency. In the design process, the ratio of inner to outer diameter, that is, the split ratio, directly affects the electromagnetic performance ...

Design and Investigation of a Low-Cogging-Torque and High-Torque-Density Double-Sided Permanent Magnet Motor

open access: yesEnergies
In this paper, a high-torque and low-cogging-torque double-sided permanent magnet (DS-PMFM) motor is proposed. The research focuses on adopting structure of stator split-tooth and unequal-width rotor poles, enabling the motor to have high output torque ...

A Dual-Harmonic Pole-Changing Motor with Split Permanent Magnet Pole

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
This paper proposes a dual-harmonic pole-changing (PC) motor with split permanent magnet (PM) poles (DHPCM-SPMPs). By adopting a split PM pole structure, the amplitude of the third PM flux density is increased greatly.
