Wirelessly Powered Soft Magnetic Robot with Microneedle for Electrical Stimulation and Drug Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A wirelessly powered soft magnetic robot integrates microneedles to enable dual functions: electrical stimulation (86.7% efficiency at 6 cm, tunable 0–20 V voltage, 0.4–50 ms pulses) and drug delivery. It switches surfaces via magnetic fields for gastrointestinal tract locomotion and treatment, with in vitro validation in fresh pig gut showing ...

Remora‐Inspired Sensing Suction Cup with Adhesion Monitoring and Force Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A suction cup with integrated liquid metal microchannel sensors enables stable multidirectional force sensing and adhesion monitoring in both air and water. The flexible resistive sensors, placed on the outer lip, transduce deformations into resistance changes under normal and shear loads.

Torque transducer sensitivity study

open access: yes, 2014
A torque transducer or a torque sensor is a device for measuring and recording the torque on a rotating system. Torque transducers usually employ strain gauges to measure the torsional moment applied to a rotating shaft. It is to be noted that for an ideal torque transducer, it should measure only the strain that is caused by a torque.

Mimicking Life: Autonomous Oscillating Artificial Cilia Driven by Chemical Power

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
The synthesis and motion analysis of chemically actuated, individually autonomous artificial cilia are presented. Driven by an internal chemical reaction, the self‐driven individual cilia require no external stimuli. They undergo periodic oscillatory motion with a 3D beat pattern and exhibit chemotactic shifts, reminiscent of biological systems.
