Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Affecting the Properties of Copper–Graphene Electroconductive Composite by Severe Plastic Deformation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Copper‐based composites enhanced with carbon feature convenient mechanical properties and favorable electric conductivity. Processing via deformation and thermomechanical treatments can introduce advantageous microstructures further enhancing their performance. Herein, copper–graphene powder‐based composites are directly consolidated via rotary swaging

Verification of a novel micro-torsion tester based on electromagnetism using an improved torsion pendulum technique

open access: yes, 2017
An optimized micro-torsion tester with high torque resolution designed based on electromagnetism is present. The torque capacity of this tester is 1.3 x 10(-3) N m with resolution of 4 x 10(-8) N m and the angle capacity is 115 deg with resolution of 0.

To the calculation of equilibrium parameters and stability of torsion process of circular bars made of weakening material

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2012
The problem of torsion of a bar with circular cross-section is considered. The bar is made of the material with a stress-strain diagram having the falling branch describing the softening state.

Center of Rigidity and Center of Shear in Wall-Frame Systems

open access: yesDoğal Afetler ve Çevre Dergisi, 2020
In case of torsion in buildings, additional earthquake forces affect the structure and internal forces and displacements increases. For this reason, it is important to place the bearing systems in the plan as much as possible to reduce the torsion effect.

Optimization of the Production of Rubber Compounds Using Mathematical Models

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Rubber compounds were mixed in a batch internal mixer, and symbolic regression was used to derive mathematical models linking recipe and process parameters to ram path, torque, and mixing quality (incorporation, dispersion, distribution). Subsequent optimization with evolutionary algorithms identified operating conditions that reduce specific energy ...

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Finding maximal torsion cosets on varieties

open access: yes, 2007
We describe a new algorithm for finding all maximal torsion cosets on varieties over $\G_m^n$. We illustrate the algorithm with some examples. The starting point for this study is the search for points on a given variety whose coordinates are roots of ...
