Shape‐Reconfigurable Crack‐Based Strain Sensor with Ultrahigh and Tunable Sensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A highly sensitive crack‐based sensor with tunable strain detection capabilities is demonstrated through controlled nanocrack formation in a line‐patterned shape memory polymer substrate. The sensor design integrates thermoplastic polyurethane and poly(lactic acid), enabling thermo‐responsive reconfiguration of crack geometry.

Torsion of a growing shaft

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2017
The torsion of a shaft by rigid disks is considered. The shaft has the form of circular cylinder. Two rigid disks are attached to its end faces. The process of continuous growth of such shaft under the influence of twisting torques applied to the disks ...

Torsion: theory and possible observables [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1998
We discuss the theoretical basis for the search of the possible experimental manifestations of the torsion field at low energies. First, the quantum field theory in an external gravitational field with torsion is reviewed. The renormalizability requires the nonminimal interaction of torsion with spinor and scalar (Higgs) fields. The Pauli-like equation

Role of Pressure and Expansion on the Degradation in Solid‐State Silicon Batteries: Implementing Electrochemistry in Particle Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A simulation technique for assessing both the fabrication and operation of a solid‐state Si battery is demonstrated by integrating particle dynamics with mass/charge transport. Although, the fabrication pressure (Pfab) increased the inter‐particle contacts and reduced the concentration (ηconc) and Li‐ion (ηLi+) overpotentials during discharging, it ...

A wandering spleen presenting as a hypogastric mass: case report

open access: yesThe Pan African Medical Journal, 2012
Wandering spleen is a rare condition characterized by the absence or underdevelopment of one or all of the ligaments that hold the spleen in its normal position in the left upper quadrant of the abdomen.

A 2-dimensional torsion theory on symmetric monoidal categories [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this paper we describe a homotopy torsion theory in the category of small symmetric monoidal categories. Thanks to the use of natural isomorphisms as basis for the nullhomotopy structure, this homotopy torsion theory enjoys some interesting 2-dimensional properties which may be the starting point for a definition of "2-dimensional torsion theory ...

Gravitational torsion kinks and thick domain walls [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1998
The dynamics of a gravitational torsion kink as a plane symmetric thick domain wall solution of Einstein-Cartan (EC) field equation is given. The spin-torsion energy has to be as high as the gravitational kink potential otherwise torsion will not contribute as an appreciable effect to domain wall.Cartan torsion also contributes to the orthonal pressure

Spectral Torsion

open access: yesCommunications in Mathematical Physics
AbstractWe introduce a trilinear functional of differential one-forms for a finitely summable regular spectral triple with a noncommutative residue. We demonstrate that for a canonical spectral triple over a closed spin manifold it recovers the torsion of the linear connection. We examine several spectral triples, including Hodge-de Rham, Einstein-Yang-
