Analytic torsion and Reidemeister torsion [PDF]
We announce a proof of the conjecture of Ray and Singer that for a compact Riemannian manifold the analytic torsion and Reidemeister torsion are equal. The proof involves studying the heat equation for certain manifolds M, equipped with metrics g u , 0 < u

We study the behaviour of analytic torsion under smooth fibrations. Namely, let F \to E \to^{f} B be a smooth fiber bundle of connected closed oriented smooth manifolds and let $V$ be a flat vector bundle over $E$. Assume that $E$ and $B$ come with Riemannian metrics and $V$ comes with a unimodular (not necessarily flat) Riemannian metric. Let $ _{an}(

Friedmann-like universes with torsion [PDF]
We consider spatially homogeneous and isotropic cosmologies with non-vanishing torsion, which assumes a specific form due to the high symmetry of these universes.

Abstract Modifying the Yang-Mills field strength and using a recently proposed generalisation of the usual minimal coupling procedure allows a simple but non-trivial type of dynamic torsion to couple to all gauge fields in a consistent manner. This allows, for the first time, a framework in which no spinning particle is required to be exempted from ...

Non-Geodesic Incompleteness in Poincaré Gauge Gravity
In this work, we review the study of singularities in Poincaré gauge theories of gravity. Since one of the most recent studies used the appearance of black hole regions of arbitrary dimension as an indicator of singular behavior, we also give some

Axial torsion and gangrene of Meckel’s diverticulum: Case report [PDF]
Introduction. Meckel’s diverticulum (MD) is the most prevalent congenital anomaly of small intestine. It develops due to the incomplete obliteration of omphalomesenterict duct which normally undergoes obliteration during the seventh week of ...

The Impact of Testicular Torsion on Testicular Function
Torsion of the spermatic cord is a urological emergency that must be treated with acute surgery. Possible long-term effects of torsion on testicular function are controversial.

On a group whose generalized torsion elements are torsion elements [PDF]
We show that a group whose generalized torsion elements are torsion elements (which we call a $TR^{*}$-group) is torsion-by-$R^{*}$ group, an extension of torsion group by a group without generalized torsion elements. We also discuss a generalized torsion group, a group all of whose non-trivial elements are generalized torsion elements.
