Simulation of Suspensions, Torsion Bars, and Fifth Wheel for Semitrailers Using Finite Elements

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2013
The objective of this paper is the simulation of some different types of elements for semitrailers, like the suspension, both mechanical with springs and pneumatic with a spring anddiapresses; other parts like the wheels, the torsion bars, the fifth wheel and the suspension of the tractor unit have also been simulated. Then, the numerical simplified FE

Microstructure Reconstruction in Battery Electrodes Using Machine Learning Based on Low‐Voltage Focused Ion Beam–Scanning Electron Microscopy Tomography Images

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐voltage FIB‐SEM tomography combined with a image preprocessing pipeline improves phase contrast and enables reliable machine‐learning segmentation of conductive networks in lithium‐ion battery electrodes. Structural descriptors are extracted from segmented images, done semimanually and automated, and compared.
