Characteristics of Torsional Vibrations of a Shaft System with Parallel Misalignment

Couplings are important parts in the movement of a shaft system. A coupling can transfer the torque from one shaft to another through deforming itself. If parallel misalignment exists, the couplings will produce an extra deformation besides the deformation produced by transferring the torque.

Torsional vibration transmissibility characteristics of reinforced viscoelastic flexible pipes

The dynamic complex shear moduli of fibre and steel reinforced viscoelastic flexible pipes are determined by using a torsional non-resonance method. Material property master curves as a function of frequency and temperature are obtained by using reduced modulus methods.

A family of torsional dynamic models of compound gear sets is developed to predict the free vibration characteristics under different kinematic configurations resulting in different speed ratios.
