FLEXURAL–TORSIONAL COUPLING EFFECT ON VIBRATIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF ANGLE-PLY LAMINATES

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1998
Abstract A mainly experimental investigation is presented on the vibrational characteristics of angle-ply laminate made of carbon/epoxy composite material, considering the effect of flexural–torsional coupling stiffness. This consists of a resonance test on a cantilevered laminated plate model by using laser holographic interferometry.

Relationship between geometric features and vibration characteristics in functionally graded piezoelectric annular plates: An extended double Legendre polynomial method

Journal of Vibration and Control
The utilization of flexural, longitudinal, and torsional modes in functionally graded piezoelectric (FGP) annular plates depends on their geometric features. The investigation of the relationship between geometric features and vibrational characteristics

Characteristics of Torsional Vibrations of a Shaft System with Parallel Misalignment

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2005
Couplings are important parts in the movement of a shaft system. A coupling can transfer the torque from one shaft to another through deforming itself. If parallel misalignment exists, the couplings will produce an extra deformation besides the deformation produced by transferring the torque.

Investigation on coupling vibration characteristics of asymmetric rails with variable cross-sections based on modal separation

Journal of Vibration and Control
In railway turnouts, asymmetric switch rails with variable cross-sections are designed for wheel load transitions. However, the dynamic characteristics of these specially shaped switch rails are not yet fully understood.

The Characteristics of Bending Vibration Stress Coupled with Torsional Vibration of Automotive Diesel Engine Shaftings

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1995
<div class="htmlview paragraph">The unknown characteristics of the bending vibration coupled with torsional vibration (hereafter called“coupled torsional, bending vibration”) are investigated from the experimental and analytical viewpoints. The torsional and bending vibration stresses of the crankshafts of a 6 cylinder, in - line engine and an 8 ...
