Work Versus Force: Simultaneous Processes for Describing Interactions
ABSTRACT Achieving a unified description of interactions remains an open challenge in theoretical physics, which currently describes four fundamental forces. This situation may be viewed differently when interactions are formulated in terms of processes (work as actio) rather than forces (force as actio), not only at the macroscopic level but also at ...

Numerical and Experimental Modal Analyses of Re-Entrant Unit-Cell-Shaped Frames
This study investigates the dynamic behaviors of re-entrant unit-cell-shaped steel frames through numerical and experimental modal analyses. Inspired by re-entrant honeycomb structures, individual frame units were modeled to explore how natural ...

Copper(I) hydride complexes often exhibit diverse aggregation behavior that can profoundly influence their structure and reactivity. In this study we use a combined experimental and computational approach to identify key structural an electronic factors that govern aggregation in PNNP dicopperhydride complexes.

Sodium Tetraazidoaurate(III)—From Na[AuCl4]·2H2O to Na[Au(N3)4] and Beyond One Step at a Time
Novel sodium chlorido‐/azidoaurate(III) dihydrates Na[AuCl4–x(N3)x]·2H2O (x = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4) provide the first example of a complete series of gradual substitution on tetramer complex anions to be described. Controlled dehydration of Na[Au(N3)4]·2H2O leads to Na[Au(N3)4]·H2O and Na[Au(N3)4], the latter being a highly explosive material.

Luminescent coordination polymers of Group 1 (Li, K, Cs) and 2 (Mg─Ba) cations with gold(I) iso‐maleonitriledithiolate ({Au2[S2C = C(CN)2]}2−) units were prepared; 1‐D aurophilic chains are present in all cases. The structures strongly depend on cation charge and size, with N‐cyano coordination observed in the Gp 1 and larger Gp 2 cations. Increasingly

Drive train dynamic analysis [PDF]
A method for parametric variations in drive train dynamic analysis is described. The method models the individual components of a drive system, forms the appropriate system interface coordinates and, calculates the system dynamic response at particular ...

Open halogen‐bonded networks have been prepared from building blocks that incorporate both iodoalkyne halogen bond donors and a pyridine‐N‐oxide halogen bond acceptor. An initially‐formed 3D network containing dioxane in its channels undergoes an unprecedented transition to a 2D material when crystals are exposed to diethyl ether.

Rotorcraft flight research with emphasis on rotor systems [PDF]
Over fifty years of contributions by NASA and the Army through rotor systems flight research were examined with an emphasis on the last 25 years. During this time, the helicopter has gone from an abnormality that did a few useful things to a vehicle that

Carbon Dots: An Emerging Frontier for Green and Sustainable Civil Engineering Materials
Traditional civil engineering materials (CE materials) are usually involved with high‐energy consumption during manufacturing, significant maintenance costs, and substantial environmental impacts throughout their life cycles. The progress of nanotechnology is catalyzing a green and sustainable transformation within the field.
