Taber Vibration Isolator for Vacuum and Cryogenic Applications

open access: yes, 1998
We present a procedure for the design and construction of a passive, multipole, mechanical high-stop vibration isolator. The isolator, consisting of a stack of metal disks connected by thin wires, attenuates frequencies in the kilohertz range, and is ...

New Dissipation Relaxation Phenomenon in Oscillating Solid He-4 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We describe the first observations on the time-dependent dissipation when the drive level of a torsional oscillator containing solid He-4 is abruptly changed. The relaxation of dissipation in solid He-4 shows rich dynamical behavior including exponential

Spatially Separated Redox Centers in One‐Dimensional Sp2‐Carbon Covalent Organic Frameworks Enable Synergistic Photocatalytic Palladium Recovery and Bisphenol A Mineralization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A one‐dimensional sp2‐carbon covalent organic framework with spatially segregated redox centers integrates a dual photosensitizing system and a cationic interface for synergistic photocatalysis. The material achieves exceptional palladium recovery (1749 mg g−1) and bisphenol A mineralization (0.1710 min−1) without sacrificial agents, demonstrating ...

Multiscale Architecture and Mechanics of the Cell Nucleus: Implications for Disease, Bioengineering and Nanomedicine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nuclear mechanical properties are inherently scale‐dependent, arising from a hierarchical architecture that spans DNA, chromatin, the nuclear envelope, and condensates. Experimental techniques and theoretical models are integrated into a cohesive multiscale framework linking nanoscale structural features to organelle‐level mechanical behavior.

Thin‐Film Thermal Sensors on Chitosan Substrates for Sustainable Transient Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Fully transient thin‐film temperature sensors are realized on pure chitosan substrates using Mo‐based RTDs and a‐IGZO/Mo thermistors. The devices exhibit high sensitivity, mechanical flexibility, humidity‐aware operation, and complete dissolution in natural solvents.

Torsion Effect and Suppression Scheme of a Translation–Tilt Compensation Pendulum for Accelerometer Performance Investigation

open access: yesShock and Vibration
Seismic noise is a major limitation for high-precision electrostatic accelerometer performance investigation on the ground. Various pendulums were developed to isolate the seismic noise, and the translation–tilt compensation pendulum is a new low ...
