Vibrational machining with torsional spindle vibrations

Russian Engineering Research, 2016
The use of a pulsed variable-speed drive as a vibrational drive is studied theoretically and experimentally. The design of a transmission with controlled velocity fluctuation is considered.

Torsional Vibrations of Shells of Revolution

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1961
Torsional-vibration modes are uncoupled from the bending and extensional modes in thin shells of revolution. The solution for the uncoupled torsional modes then depends upon a linear second-order differential equation. The governing equation is subsequently solved for the frequencies of a conical shell.

Torsional vibrations of bells

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1975
The results of a successful experimental search for Φ − bell modes are reported. Some apparently extraordinary inconsistencies observed between the different components of such modes are explained in terms of small asymmetries of the bell. It is shown that Φ − modes could easily be mistaken for π modes.

Torsional vibration of acrolein

Transactions of the Faraday Society, 1966
The sub-bands of the torsional vibration of acrolein have been resolved. The marked degradation indicates a change of about 2.7% in the rotational constant A in the first torsionally excited state. This results in the R branch being much more intense than the P branch.

Torsion vibration damper

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1983
A torsional vibration damper having limit stops to limit the compression of the springs and to avoid overstraining of the springs. Spring retainers which seat on the driving and driven members have protrusions and recesses to minimize relative rubbing motion and wear and provide improved alignment of the spring seats in the assembly with the springs ...

Torsional vibration damper

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1980
ABSTRACT A vibration damper assembly for use in a torsional coupling between a driving member and a driven member wherein the damper assembly provides for a very low rate, high amplitude deflection. The vibration damper includes a hub to be received on a driven shaft, two or more groups of springs having multiple springs of the came or various ...

Torsional Vibration

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers: Automobile Division, 1958
The construction of an internal-combustion engine is such as to make it susceptible to resonant torsional oscillation of the crankshaft. When an engine is operated near a critical speed, that is, a speed at which the pulsations produced by each cylinder excite the natural frequency of the crankshaft, excessive torsional amplitudes are developed which

Torsional Vibration and Related Coupled Vibration

2019
Torsional vibrations are often problematic in transient responses when a rotor-bearing system starts up. The vibration is more predominant and unavoidable in geared rotor systems. Though torsional vibration poses long-term problems, new methods of rotor design have been established by employing the transfer matrix method, which are capable of ...
