Determination of Total Arsenic and Arsenic Metabolites in Human Liver Hepatocytes
Chinese Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 2009The effects of direct sampling and three digestion methods were investigated on the determination of arsenic in Chang liver hepatocytes after ultrasonic disintegration were investigated. The results showed that the efficiency of microwave digestion and obturator digestion was better than cold digestion and direct sampling. The day precision (present as

Seasonal Variation of Total Dissolved Arsenic and Arsenic Speciation in A Polluted Surface Waterway
Environmental Geochemistry and Health, 2003Seasonal differences in the dissolved arsenic concentration and speciation in a contaminated urban waterway in northwest England have been determined using a coupled ion chromatography-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (IC-ICP-MS) technique. Waters sampled in the vicinity of an industrial works during relatively dry conditions in April 2000 ...

Doping control analysis of total arsenic in equine plasma
Drug Testing and Analysis, 2020AbstractArsenic can be easily found in our surrounding environment. Because of its ubiquitous nature, horse urine and blood invariably contain low levels of arsenic. Nevertheless, inorganic arsenic, despite its general use as a tonic for horses, is an effective doping agent having a deleterious effect because of its ability to induce gastroenteritis ...

Total arsenic, inorganic arsenic, lead and cadmium contents in edible seaweed sold in Spain
Food and Chemical Toxicology, 2006Total arsenic, inorganic arsenic, lead and cadmium contents were determined in 112 samples of seaweed preparations sold in Spain (seaweed packed in plastic or cardboard box, seaweed in the form of tablets and concentrates, foods containing seaweed, and canned seaweed).

Total arsenic and arsenic speciation in indigenous food stuffs
2016The properties of an element are highly dependent on its chemical form, it’s called elemental speciation. This study evaluates the arsenic species found in a range of food stuffs together with growing environments and toxicity issues. Total arsenic concentrations in fish tissue and vegetable crops were determined by ICP-MS following microwave-assisted ...

Total and Toxic Arsenic Levels in North Sea Fish
Archives of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 2002Levels of arsenic contamination in muscle and liver tissue of 25 sea fish and 4 shellfish species from the North Sea were determined. Analyses were done by both ICP-MS and HG-AFS to distinguish between nontoxic and toxic fractions of As. Highest total As concentrations were found in lemon sole, dogfish, ray, and witch.

Total and speciated arsenic levels in rice from China
Food Additives & Contaminants: Part A, 2010Although the need for policy development on arsenic (As) in rice has been recognized and a legally enforceable maximum contaminant level (MCL) for inorganic arsenic (As(i)) in rice has been established in China, evidence reported in this article indicates that the risk of exposure to As for the Chinese population through rice is still underestimated ...

Accurate Measurement of Total Arsenic in Rice and Oyster by Considering Arsenic Species
Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society, 2019Toxicity due to arsenic (As) in food has been mostly assessed by the determination of total As amount. Although the toxicity depends on the chemical forms, the sample can be determined to be safe if the total As concentration is less than the maximum allowable amounts of the toxic arsenic compounds.

CCQM-K108.2014: determination of arsenic species and total arsenic in brown rice flour
Metrologia, 2017The key comparison CCQM-K108.2014 was organised by the Inorganic Analysis Working Group (IAWG) of CCQM to test the abilities of the national metrology institutes (NMIs) or the designated institutes (DIs) to measure the mass fractions of inorganic arsenic (i-As, sum of the amount of arsenite [As(III)] and arsenate [As(V ...
