Survey of total Arsenic and Arsenic species in Italian rice.

2011
Arsenic toxicity depends on the chemical form. Inorganic arsenic is more toxic than organic arsenic and trivalent arsenite is more toxic than pentavalent and zero-valent arsenic. Generally rice, unlike food products of terrestrial origin, contains significant amounts of inorganic arsenic. Recently some Government Organizations (e.g.

Total Arsenic Content in Seafood Consumed in Portugal

Journal of Aquatic Food Product Technology, 2009
Marine organisms are known to accumulate arsenic (As) in the range of 1–100 mg kg−1 from their environment and food sources. The majority of arsenic is present as organoarsenic compounds, metabolized from inorganic arsenic present in seawater or accumulated from food sources such as algae or other fish.

A global survey on total arsenic concentrations in sharks

Environmental Monitoring and Assessment
Several shark species worldwide present high total arsenic (As) concentrations in muscle tissue, although to what extent has not yet been systematized. This study assessed total As concentrations in different shark species, as these animals comprise a significant fishery resource worldwide and are paramount for ecosystem equilibrium.

Spectrophotometric Determination of Total Arsenic in Gelatine

Acta Pharmaceutica Jugoslavica, 1988
A spectrophotometric method for the determination of arsenic in gelatine is developed. Arsenic(V) reacts quantitatively with potassium iodide and an equivalent amount of liberated iodine is extracted in carbon tetrachloride, a pink colour being measured at wavelength of 515 nm.

[Serum and urine total arsenic concentration in a case of acute arsenic intoxication].

Chudoku kenkyu : Chudoku Kenkyukai jun kikanshi = The Japanese journal of toxicology, 2002
The 68-year-old man took arsenic pasta 1 g (arsenic trioxide 0.45 g) to commit suicide and was admitted 16 hours after ingestion. He developed vomiting and coma, followed by pancytopenia. He was treated with activated charcoal, laxative, dimercaprol, sodium thiosulfate and direct hemoperfusion with good recovery.
