Natural Product Toosendanin Suppresses the Malignant Development of Skin Melanoma by Targeting BNC2 for Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BNC2 exhibits context‐dependent opposing functions across multiple cancer types. This study reveals BNC2 as an oncogenic driver of melanoma proliferation and metastasis through transcriptional activation of PIK3CA. The natural compound TSN simultaneously degrades BNC2 and its oncogenic partner SMAD3 via CRBN‐dependent ubiquitination.

Total cholesterol and suicidality in depression

Biological Psychiatry, 1994
There exists considerable controversy regarding an association between low total cholesterol and increased mortality from suicide. As suicide mortality is a crude marker for suicidal ideation and behavior, we investigated the association between total cholesterol and suicidality in a depressed sample.

Amperometric determination of serum total cholesterol with nanoparticles of cholesterol esterase and cholesterol oxidase

Analytical Biochemistry, 2016
We describe the preparation of glutaraldehyde cross-linked and functionalized cholesterol esterase nanoparticles (ChENPs) and cholesterol oxidase nanoparticles (ChOxNPs) aggregates and their co-immobilization onto Au electrode for improved amperometric determination of serum total cholesterol. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) images of ChENPs and
