Three-dimensional model study of the Arctic ozone loss in 2002/2003 and comparison with 1999/2000 and 2003/2004 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We have used the SLIMCAT 3-D off-line chemical transport model (CTM) to quantify the Arctic chemical ozone loss in the year 2002/2003 and compare it with similar calculations for the winters 1999/2000 and 2003/2004.

Keratin–Melanin Complexation Enables Robust, Delamination‐Resistant Feather‐Inspired Structural Color Coatings for Flexible and Curved Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Providing mechanically robust structural color coating technology inspired by cooperative interactions in nature. The spatial arrangement of melanin particles within the keratin matrix generates angle‐independent structural colors. Diverse functional groups in keratin and melanin contribute to interparticle and substrate adhesion, resulting in the ...

Comparison of ground-based FTIR and Brewer O3 total column with data from two different IASI algorithms and from OMI and GOME-2 satellite instruments [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Measurement Techniques, 2011
An intercomparison of ozone total column measurements derived from various platforms is presented in this work. Satellite data from Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer (IASI), Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) and Global Ozone Monitoring ...

UCST‐Responsive PMEGA: From Solution Behavior to Functional Hydrogel Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
PMEGA is used as a versatile water‐based UCST‐responsive platform for engineering microstructured hydrogel coatings via a thiol–ene CLAG approach. From PMEGAs of well‐defined UCST properties, the UV‐based CLAG method provides precise control over film thickness, ranging from nanometers to micrometers, and enables high‐resolution patterning.

Response of Total Column Ozone at High Latitudes to Sudden Stratospheric Warmings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The total column ozone (TCO) at northern high latitudes is increased over a course of 1–2 months after a major sudden stratospheric warming as a consequence of enhanced ozone eddy transport and diffusive ozone fluxes.

Variability of total column ozone content measured at Chisinau site, Republic of Moldov

open access: yesMoldavian Journal of the Physical Sciences, 2006
Results of the total column ozone measurements at the ground-based solar radiation monitoring station in Chisinau, Moldova are presented. Column ozone content was derived from the ratios of direct solar ultraviolet radiances measured at 3 discrete ...

Variations in Ozone Concentration over the Mid-Latitude Region Revealed by Ozonesonde Observations in Pohang, South Korea

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2020
Ozone absorbs harmful UV rays at high elevations but acts as a pollutant gas in the lower atmosphere. It is necessary to monitor both the vertical profile and the total column ozone.

Estimates of ozone return dates from Chemistry-Climate Model Initiative simulations [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2018
>We analyse simulations performed for the Chemistry-Climate Model Initiative (CCMI) to estimate the return dates of the stratospheric ozone layer from depletion caused by anthropogenic stratospheric chlorine and bromine.
