Determining Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons in Soil

Proceedings of SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 1993
Abstract Many state agencies, using an infrared analysis [IR], establish total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) levels above which soils are considered contaminated. As a result, clean closure of contaminated areas are prohibited and, in some cases, Deed Recordation required. In many instances, a fraction of the hydrocarbon observed using the

The total hydrocarbon ampere-volt method

Proceedings of 1998 International Symposium on Electrical Insulating Materials. 1998 Asian International Conference on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation. 30th Symposium on Electrical Insulating Materials (IEEE Cat. No.98TH8286), 2002
With overheating in the magnetic circuit, the total hydrocarbon content in a transformer is proportional to the square of the applied voltage while it is proportional to the square of the current when overheating occurs in the conductor circuit. In the paper, the total hydrocarbon ampere-volt method (THAVM) is introduced.
