Robotic‐Assisted Partial Revision of Total Knee Arthroplasty: First Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
Robot‐assisted partial TKA enables precise osteotomy, balanced gap restoration, and excellent clinical and radiological outcomes. As robotic platforms continue to advance and clinical evidence accumulates, this technology demonstrates significant promise for improving the outcomes of complex partial knee revision procedures.

Is It Safe to Implant Prosthesis When Frozen Section Reports Positive During Joint Arthroplasty? A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
This study demonstrated that it is improper to overinterpret isolated frozen section positivity. It may be safe to implant prosthesis in patients who had positive frozen sections but without other signs of infection. Surgeons opting for staged revisions solely based on neutrophil counts risk unnecessary morbidity, particularly in patients with ...

Metformin Use Is Associated With Reduced Inflammation and Pain After Total Knee Arthroplasty in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
Long‐term metformin use in T2DM patients undergoing TKA significantly reduced postoperative inflammation and pain. On postoperative day 3, CRP, IL‐6, ESR, D‐dimer levels and VAS scores were markedly lower in the metformin group, suggesting potential perioperative anti‐inflammatory and analgesic benefits.

Population level data on aging in periodontal and peri‐implant health—Aging is not a contraindication for periodontal or peri‐implant therapy

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Global population aging is leading to a greater retention of natural teeth into later life and an increasing prevalence of dental implant therapy. Although advanced age has traditionally been regarded as a risk factor for compromised outcomes, population level evidence remains lacking.
