This study presents a tensegrity joint with pneumatic artificial muscles integrated directly into its tensile network. Inspired by tensegrity spine structures, the joint's topology is developed and further optimized through an evolutionary algorithm, taking into account fabrication constraints and target applications.

Haptic Perception via the Dynamics of a Flexible Body Inspired by an Ostrich's Neck
Inspired by avian anatomy, this study uses a flexible robotic neck to investigate haptic perception driven by musculoskeletal dynamics. By applying physical reservoir computing, the robot encodes external force interactions into its body dynamics, allowing effective object classification.

ABSTRACT Natural History Studies can help inform clinician and caregiver expectations, form the basis of management guidelines, and provide a comparator for therapeutic intervention. In rare conditions, where collection of prospective longitudinal data is untimely and impractical, quasi‐natural history data—from multiple individuals of different ages ...

ABSTRACT Chondrocalcinosis (CCAL), also known as calcium pyrophosphate dihydrate deposition disease (CPPDD), is a frequent multifactorial condition in the elderly, but there are two rare autosomal dominant Mendelian forms, CCAL1 (OMIM %600668) and CCAL2. Only three families with molecularly proven CCAL1 have been reported.
