Enhanced Hydrogen Evolution Reaction Performance of Ni‐Doped MoS2 with 1T Structure for Alkaline Water Electrolyzer: Introduction of 1T Phase and Morphological Optimization Through Co‐Sputtering Technique

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
The hydrogen evolution reaction activity of Ni‐doped MoS2 is enhanced by optimizing sputtering parameters in co‐sputtering. Sputtering power controls morphology and Ni doping which promotes 1T yield and activates basal planes. Sputtering time changes 1T yield regardless of Ni ratio.

Effects of feeding management and breed type on muscle chemical composition and relationships between carcass and muscle compositional traits in steers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
peer-reviewedThere is little published information on the chemical composition of muscle from beef steers produced in Irish production systems.

Soil biological quality of grassland fertilized with adjusted cattle manure slurries in comparison with organic and inorganic fertilizers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We studied the effect of five fertilizers (including two adjusted manure slurries) and an untreated control on soil biota and explored the effect on the ecosystem services they provided.

Do Institutions Make Street‐Level Bureaucrats Prosocial? Agent‐Based Evidence Shows That New Public Management Does Not

open access: yesEuropean Policy Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Does street‐level bureaucrats' (SLBs) willingness to sacrifice their own self‐interests to meet the needs of their clients vary depending on their contexts? To date, it has been very challenging to empirically examine how SLBs who have different orientations toward social values might act in different institutional and administrative contexts.

Inconsistent Transcriptomic Responses to Hexabromocyclododecane in Japanese Quail: A Comparative Analysis of Results From Four Different Study Designs

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology and Chemistry, EarlyView.
Abstract Efforts to use transcriptomics for toxicity testing have classically relied on the assumption that chemicals consistently produce characteristic transcriptomic signatures that are reflective of their mechanism of action. However, the degree to which transcriptomic responses are conserved across different test methodologies has seldom been ...

Optimising The Response To Supplementary Concentrates By Beef Cattle In Winter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
End of project reportConcentrates are a major component of feed costs in winter finishing of beef cattle. Two separate experiments were carried out to evaluate the response to increasing supplementary concentrate level with grass silage and the effects ...

Recent Perspectives on Phytochemical Profile, Pharmacological Activities, and Industrial Applications of Guava (Psidium guajava)

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Psidium guajava leaves contain potent bioactive compounds like quercetin, myricetin, and triterpenoids that show antioxidant, antidiabetic, anti‐inflammatory, and anticancer effects. They act by modulating NF‐κB, PPARγ, and α‐glucosidase and by inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest.

Effects of enzyme levels in total mixed ration containing oil palm frond silage on intake, rumen fermentation, and growth performance of male goat [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2012
This experiment was conducted to study the effects of supplementing the total mixed ration (TMR) containing oil palmfrond (OPF) silage with different levels of enzyme on feed intake and growth performance of goat.

Influence of live cells or cells extract of Saccharomyces cerevisiae on in vitro gas production of a total mixed ration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In vitro gas production An interaction effect was observed (P=0.009) between treatment type and treatment dose for the asymptotic GP without interaction effects (P>0.05) for the rate of GP and the initial delay before gas production begins.

Particle size evaluation of total mixed rations in intensive beef production systems

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2007
AbstractSamples of total mixed ration (TMR) were collected periodically in 15 beef cattle farms and submitted to a nutritional and particle size evaluation. Samples of faeces were taken and analysed for pH, consistency, colour and visually ranked for corn residues (Corn Residue Index) from 4 (totally digested) to 0 (very high presence of maize residues)
