Total organic carbon removal instrumentation
Filtration + Separation, 2018Organic compounds in water can indicate a failure in filtration and storage. Total organic carbon (TOC) instrumentation is used to analyse water and identify organic components. We discuss TOC in the wastewater industry and the type of instrumentation and methods employed.

Determination of protein concentration by total organic carbon analysis
Journal of Biochemical and Biophysical Methods, 1991Determination of the carbon concentration in protein solutions by total organic carbon analysis was found to be a sensitive and reliable method for the estimation of protein concentrations. Using a carbon content of 0.53 g/g in protein and of 0.44 g/g in carbohydrate, the concentrations of normal proteins, proteins containing chromophoric groups, and ...

Total Organic Carbon and Carbon Isotopes of Sediments
1981This research project addresses the question: do the isotopes of carbon in the organic matter of the sediments within and around the Buccaneer Field indicate that any alteration of the sedimentary organic matter has resulted from drilling and producing operations?

Determination of total organic carbon – an overview of current methods
TrAC Trends in Analytical Chemistry, 2004This article summarizes the most important and current methods for the determination of total organic carbon (TOC) in solid samples. The methods presented are chemical oxidation, combustion, acid treatment and ashing. We discuss the advantages of the different methods as well as problems that can be encountered during analysis.

Total soil organic carbon and carbon sequestration potential in Nigeria
Geoderma, 2016Abstract This study aimed to quantify SOC stocks and potential C sequestration for Nigeria using legacy soil data. Mass preserving splines were fitted to legacy SOC and bulk density (BD) pedon data based on GlobalSoilmap soil depths. SOC concentrations (g kg −1 ) were predicted using Random Forest model (RFM), Cubist and Boosted regression tree (BRT).

Charge density of total organic carbon in Finnish lakes
Environmental Pollution, 1992Ion balance calculations were used to estimate the charge density of total organic carbon (TOC) and for calibrating the model of Oliver et al. (1983) for Finnish lakes. The database consisted of samples collected in the autumn of 1987 from 955 randomly selected lakes covering the whole country.
