Total Pressure Losses in Rotor Systems With Radial Inflow

Volume 3: Heat Transfer; Electric Power; Industrial and Cogeneration, 2000
Gas turbines with a splined-disc rotor design allow the compressor bleed pressure to be adapted precisely to the requirements of rotor cooling air systems in which the cooling air is routed through the spaced between the rotating discs. Calculation of such flows is extremely difficult; particularly so if the flow is directed radially ...

Simple Shielded Total‐Pressure Probes

Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 1958
Design features and characteristics of conventional, modified and shielded total‐pressure probes are briefly discussed, and compared with new shielded instruments of simple construction which combine smallness of size with adequately fast response to pressure changes. Tests at air speeds up to 280 ft./sec.

Methods for the measurement of low total pressure

Journal of Physics E: Scientific Instruments, 1981
The physical principles of low total pressure measurement are presented and the associated specific problems discussed. Low pressure measurement under isotropic conditions is briefly reviewed. Emphasis is placed on the analysis of the conditions of pressure determination in nonisotropic media. The principles underlying the design of instruments for the
