The history of anatomical engagement

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract The public's fascination with anatomy has evolved over time and progressed from avoidance of the tainted yet saintly corpse, to their fascination with cabinets of curiosities. The current narrative review explores public engagement (PE), from its potential origins as cave paintings, to the rise of the disciplinarity of anatomy.

Parents information behavior: Typology of vaccine attitudes in the context of information source use

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Although some studies indicate that vaccine risks are not a major public concern, vaccine hesitancy is nevertheless increasing. The “cure” is not simply higher information‐literacy levels; many investigations emphasize that information must come from sources people trust.

The Signed Total Roman k-Domatic Number Of A Graph

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae Graph Theory, 2017
Let k ≥ 1 be an integer. A signed total Roman k-dominating function on a graph G is a function f : V (G) → {−1, 1, 2} such that Ʃu2N(v) f(u) ≥ k for every v ∈ V (G), where N(v) is the neighborhood of v, and every vertex u ∈ V (G) for which f(u) = −1 is ...

JWST Imaging of the Closest Globular Clusters—VI. The Lowest‐Mass Objects in M 4 and the Galactic Bulge

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We present James Webb Space Telescope observations of M 4—the closest globular cluster—that probe the lower Main Sequence down to the hydrogen‐burning limit. The unveiled stellar sequence reaches much fainter luminosities than previously possible, revealing a few extremely red objects that are consistent with brown dwarfs as cool as Teff∼1000K$

Green Logistics: In Pursuit of a Final Definition

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Green logistics (GL) is a topic of growing interest for policymakers, business managers, academics, and society at large. There has been a steadily increasing amount of research on the subject; however, there is still no unified understanding or definition of GL or a consensus on what it means depending on the scope of its application ...

Measuring Student Engagement in Community College: Construct Validity of the Community College Survey of Student Engagement

open access: yesNew Directions for Community Colleges, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Using data from the 2019 Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE) 3‐year cohort, this article presents a validation study of the 2017 version of CCSSE. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were implemented to investigate the psychometric properties and construct validity with strategies to address missing data.

Ring‐opening metathesis polymerization‐Derived Organoborane Polymers as Strong Lewis Acids and Luminescent Materials

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
Ring‐opening metathesis polymerization offers access to borane polymers with tunable Lewis acidity, environmental stability, and luminescence. The Lewis acid strength approaches that of B(C6F5)3 when R = Cl and Ar = C6F5, high stability is ensured with chlorophenyl or naphthyl pendent groups (Ar = ClPh, Np), and strong emission is achieved with a ...

Cannabidiol Lacks Direct Effect on Cortical Excitability: A Randomized, Double Blind, Placebo Controlled, 3‐Way Crossover Trial

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is approved as an adjunctive treatment of seizures associated with Dravet syndrome, Lennox–Gastaut Syndrome, and tuberous sclerosis. Its therapeutic and adverse effects are thought to arise, at least partly, from a pharmacokinetic interaction with clobazam, another anti‐seizure medication (ASM).

Effect of Lignin, Humins, and Biomass‐Derived Acids on Kinetics of Catalytic Hydroxymethylfurfural Production during Saccharide Dehydration Reactions

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
(Hemi)celluloses, abundant in lignocellulosic biomass, can be hydrolyzed and dehydrated into furanics like 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural (5‐HMF) and levulinic acid. Despite its potential, 5‐HMF production remains limited by inefficiencies, notably humin formation.

Sufficiency Policy in Rural Municipalities: Measures, Enablers, and Barriers

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A mounting body of scientific evidence emphasizes the necessity of sufficiency as a sustainability strategy in view of intensifying global ecological crises. To enable and promote sufficiency implementation with the necessary speed and scope, efforts at all policy levels are needed.
