A Free, Fast, Simple, and Efficient Total Variation Diminishing Magnetohydrodynamic Code [PDF]
We describe a numerical method to solve the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations. The fluid variables are updated along each direction using the flux-conservative, second-order, total variation diminishing (TVD), upwind scheme of Jin & Xin. The magnetic field is updated separately in two-dimensional advection-constraint steps.

A Total Variation Diminishing Interpolation Operator and Applications
We construct, on continuous $Q_1$ finite elements over Cartesian meshes, an interpolation operator that does not increase the total variation. The operator is stable in $L^1$ and exhibits second order approximation properties. With the help of it we provide improved error estimates for discrete minimizers of the total variation denoising problem and ...

Simple and High-Accurate Schemes for Hyperbolic Conservation Laws
The paper constructs a class of simple high-accurate schemes (SHA schemes) with third order approximation accuracy in both space and time to solve linear hyperbolic equations, using linear data reconstruction and Lax-Wendroff scheme.

An application of flux difference splitting scheme in river-network model
The discrete procedure of non-conservative St. Venant equations is carried out by making use of the flux difference splitting scheme. In order to maintain the same dispersed form, characteristic theory is introduced into boundary points discretization ...

In this article, we offer a novel numerical approach for the solution of elastohydrodynamic lubrication line and point contact problems using a class of total variation diminishing (TVD) schemes on parallel computers. A direct parallel approach is presented by introducing a novel solver named as projected alternate quadrant interlocking factorization ...

ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Computer modeling of multidimensional problems of gravitational gas dynamics on multiprocessor computers [PDF]
This article deals with a method, based on total variation diminishing (TVD) scheme, for solving three-dimensional equations of gravitational gas dynamics. For this method a parallel algorithm of the decision is offered.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
