Bleomycin is a potent anti-tumour compound used in the treatment of squamous cell carcinomas. An unfortunate side effect of this drug is pulmonary toxicity. The onset of this damage manifests as mild oedema and inflammation which eventually develops into pulmonary fibrosis.
